Campaign: Countdown to 2018

December is a big month for social media content. Dead week, finals, commencement, winter break, bowl games and the holidays. And, oh yeah, the start of the new year is just around the corner.

Countdowns and “best of” lists are all over the place this time of the year. #CSUSocial has tapped into the trend by hosting a countdown to the new year by sharing our most popular content by platform (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). It’s a simple yet fun way to close out the year. It’s also insightful to see what content your audience liked the very best over the last 365 days. For fans who didn’t see this content for the first time around, it’s a neat way to share with them highlights of the year. Another bonus is that you’ll have ready-made content for a time of year where it can be a struggle to find relevant things to post.

Pick a Timeframe

This year we’ll host a five-day countdown to 2018, running Dec. 27-31. Last year, we did a six-day countdown to tie in the ‘six’ of 2016.

Identify Posts

Select your best performing content based on engagement (likes, comments, retweets, clicks, shares). We select our top performing posts for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Create a Mark and Share with Campus Partners

Developing a simple mark that you can overlay on your top performing content helps visually identify it as part of your countdown campaign. We share our mark with the Social Media Committee so that they can also participate in the countdown on their own channels using their own top performing content. It feels good to share the love 😊
