What is CSU’s Social and Digital Media Team, anyway? 

CSU’s Division of Marketing and Communications provides central marketing, public relations, community outreach, design, photography, social and digital media, Web, and video services for the University. CSU’s award-winning Social and Digital Media team within the Division of Marketing and Communications is looking for a dynamic student to serve as the team’s Social and Digital Media intern.

The CSU Social and Digital Media intern will gain an overarching understanding of the Division’s initiatives by telling the University’s branded stories through a variety of social and digital communications channels.

The CSU Social and Digital Media team is looking for a student intern to join our team for the Fall 2022 semester.

Cool. So…what does the intern actually do?

The #CSUSocial intern can expect to:

  • Interview students, faculty and staff, and write Q&A captions for an Instagram feed series. This is a primary responsibility of the position.
  • Help strategize and manage CAM the Ram’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. This is a primary responsibility of the position.
  • Assist in the daily creation of social media content, including (but not limited to):
    • Schedule, manage and draft tweets for the CSU Twitter account
    • Content for Instagram Reels and TikTok
    • Pinterest management
  • Be up-to-date with the latest trends and strategies in social media
  • Attend events to create content for various channels
  • Attend weekly team meetings
  • Contribute to the team’s blog, Social
  • Ensure that the University image and brand is communicated consistently and appropriately on social and digital channels
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience?

Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student for the duration of the internship. Candidates with demonstrated skills in social media and writing in AP style are preferred. Interns must also demonstrate all the characteristics of a great CSU community member, including:

  • Ram Pride
  • Demonstrated writing experience, especially knowledge of AP Style, is strongly preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines and honor required time commitments
  • Creative spirit and ability to have fun in a professional environment
  • Maturity and ability to problem-solve
  • Strong knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Graphic design, photography and videography experience a plus
  • Experience creating content for branded social media accounts is preferred
  • Passion for the Colorado State community and a willingness to foster the growth of that community through use of social media platforms
  • Willingness to perform as part of a team while possessing a strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy, collaboration and high-quality results
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and produce quality results in an efficient manner
  • Commitment to uphold the university’s Principles of Community

This internship is for the Fall 2022 semester with the possibility of extending to the Spring 2022 semester.

Hours: 10 hours each week; flexible schedule

Pay: $15/hour
